Fannie May is a well known confection brand. They specialize in a variety chocolates with an abundance of different flavor profiles. It was my job to create a new logo along with new packaging for Fannie May's four basic chocolate: Pixies, Assorted, Dark Chocolate and Milk Chocolate
Fannie may has a very simple logo and basic package design. I didn't want to rock the boat too much so I kept both designs in the same vein of simplicity. The logo is inspired by square shaped candies and the packaging is inspired by chocolate drizzle. The cross shape of the ribbon and the logo are also reminiscent of a present. The chocolates are color coded to coincide loosely with what Fannie May currently uses (at the time of this post) for each candy.
By using the candy and Fannie May's already simple yet elegant packaging, I was able to come up with a design that continues to keep the elegance and simplicity going, while using its current packaging for inspiration. The new logo will still be recognized as Fannie May and won't confuse the consumer but draw them in to get a peek of the new packaging.
